Holy Crap, March Is Here Already

Yeah, been a while.  It’s okay. I’m here now.

Kinda like the 2012 Mayan calendar “end of the world” thing, the date for the start of the much lamented sequestration has come, and the country has some how managed not to fall immediately into ruin. If President Obama believed the warnings he was using during his recent fear-mongering campaign, he must be shocked to see that there have not been immediate massive firings of teachers, police officers and fire fighters. Although why the federal government sequestration would have resulted in such, no one actually knows. Continue reading

Mere hours after a school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, and already I was reading opinions about how the shooting proves we need more and stricter gun control laws. It very much gave the appearance that the gun control nuts all rushed to their computers, thinking not of concern for the grieving but how to try to use the tragedy for political gain. To see what these people said would almost make a person think the guns of their own accord had marched into the school and done all the shooting. The facts, of course, are quite different. Our government can waste precious time and resources prosecuting baseball players Roger Clemens (twice) and Barry Bonds for lying about something they may have done that could hurt only themselves. But it will not pursue to its logical conclusion a calculated government guns program that resulted in the deaths of two border guards and more than 200 Mexican citizens.
