So after three weeks of sugarcoating, i.e. deliberately downplaying and possibly lying about, the massive failure that is healthcare.gov, President Obama gave a speech to tell people there was no sugarcoating it. Three weeks he took to get around to this. Yeah, real leadership there. (No, not really.) But then He also said this: “We waged this battle to make sure that millions of Americans in the wealthiest nation on Earth finally have the same chance to get the same security of affordable quality health care as anybody else.” The same as anybody else, except President Obama, Obama’s family, the U.S. Congress and congressional staff, i.e. the political class who think having Obamacare for themselves would be a bad idea. There is your leadership America. You should be ashamed.

With some dismay I have watched the politicians in Washington bicker over the past several weeks. The Republican leadership wastes every opportunity to criticize the President and the Democrats. The President, the Democrats, and their apologists continue to say perfectly idiotic things. And all the while, all of them act amazed that anyone would dare find reason to criticize. Poll after poll shows dissatisfaction and lack of confidence in the POTUS and in Congress. Well, here is a clue folks: this is what you get for voting the “practical” politicians into office. There are several news stories to give one cause for complaint. The gun control nuts annoying everyone again after the shootings at the Navy Yards. The racists who cannot handle a dark skinned woman winning the Miss America contest. Idiots bothering to commemorate the Occupy Wall Street protests as if there was something good about those protests. And a shockingly stupid PR campaign for the POTUS and his handling of Syria. So let’s calmly discuss these things in a fair and balanced… nah. I’m just going to give my opinions. Continue reading
There are so many things to talk about. Politics, D/s issues, and a story or two to finish. But sometimes I have to choose between spending a few hours working on this site with spending those hours dealing with other matters in life. Sadly this blog has to be lower on the list of priorities and other things that are not nearly as much fun or interesting.
But take heart. I am here now, O readers. And I have things to say. So let us begin. Continue reading
Yeah, been a while. It’s okay. I’m here now.
Kinda like the 2012 Mayan calendar “end of the world” thing, the date for the start of the much lamented sequestration has come, and the country has some how managed not to fall immediately into ruin. If President Obama believed the warnings he was using during his recent fear-mongering campaign, he must be shocked to see that there have not been immediate massive firings of teachers, police officers and fire fighters. Although why the federal government sequestration would have resulted in such, no one actually knows. Continue reading
Don’t worry. This one will be brief. I have seen a little more of what Obama said in his speech, and the context does not make it better. Continue reading
Sadly, this is just getting worse. Fear-mongering nonsense is pouring out all over the place. “Surely we can do better than this,” said Obama. “We have an obligation to try.” Which would be nice if I believed by “better” he meant “better” and not “more nonsensical”. Continue reading
